The MLB has just announced it is adding 4 new teams to its roster and splitting up the divisions to help spread the talent pool across the league. The split has allowed each division to be broken down into regions, this would encompass the American League: South adding a team to Charlotte, NC -- The Carolina Hounds.

Welcome to the MLB!

This team will add more markets which will lead to more playoff teams which then creates a domino into more teams with a shot at the postseason, which means more "meaningful games," to keep the fan base intrigued and engaged.

Uniform Branding

With making a team, uniforms are needed. Along with the 2 consistent sets, an alternate may be needed. Through color choice, typography and iconography placement allows for 4 distinct yet unified choices for uniform selection.

The approach taken with the social media branding was getting already present sports teams within the Charlotte area involved. As well as using companies that are headquartered in the city plus adding a slight sense of humor within themselves.

Okay. We have a team, now we need to get people to the first game of the season.

While most sporting events run their tickets through Ticketmaster, Seatgeak, or Tickpick; the MLB utilizes its own interface “MLB Ballpark” where each team has a few pages where the user has access to their favorite teams and get a personalized experience while they are at a game. They also can access their tickets through this app so when developing the team I felt that having this touchpoint was necessary.
