Web Design + Visual Identity
Muna was a group passion project where McKenna Martin and I brainstormed a topic that would have the potential to help others that also resonated with us on a deeper level. Through this process, we created a mobile app with 2 portals (caretaker and dependent) that allow set reminders, plans, contacts, and activities for an individual being taken care of for onset signs of Alzheimer’s while still giving that personal independence to regulate and track what they do throughout the day.

Let’s Get You Started!
Muna means “to remember” in Icelandic; using a short name for the brand makes it easier to remember. We collaborated to make sure the logo came off as friendly, welcoming, and lively. While the app is a all-in-one, majority of the app is based around scheduling and planning. Utilizing the letterform ‘M’ and adding a check mark variation underneath to make heart to play into the adjectives allows the user to subconsciously understand the overall purpose of our app.

Caretaker Portal
This portion of the app allows for the caretaker customization as needed as possible for the person they are taking care of. Most of the screens are mirror versions of the dependent view allowing the caretaker to see what task they have missed throughout the day. This specific portal allows the caretaker to add appointments, pills, and reminders into the dependents’ interface.

Dependent Portal
A more standardized view of the caretakers, a mirror image outside of more simplified functions but still allows the dependent to be independent when it comes to logging activity.

Now. How do we market this?
To reach our target audience, we used Meta marketing (specifically Facebook) to showcase what the app’s social media presence would look like. We also created pamphlets and posters to have in a doctor’s office so that our app can be shown as a resource to families that may not want to take the traditional route of caretaking and want to be hands-on.
